The methods below are general guidance for frozen coated chicken tenders. The appliance settings and checking times have not been verified by the manufacturer for this product. Follow the instructions on the current packaging wherever provided.

Remove all packaging and cook in small batches without overcrowding.

Every tender must reach an internal temperature of at least 75°C before serving.

Oven baking

Preheat a conventional oven to 200°C, or a fan-forced oven to 180°C.

Arrange the frozen tenders in a single layer on a lightly greased baking tray, leaving space between them. Turn after approximately 10–12 minutes.

Begin checking the internal temperature after approximately 20 minutes. Continue cooking until the centre of the thickest part of each tender reaches at least 75°C. Larger tenders and fuller trays may take longer.

Deep frying

Use a temperature-controlled deep fryer suitable for frozen foods. Heat the oil to 175°C, following the appliance’s instructions.

Remove any loose surface ice. Carefully lower a small batch of frozen tenders into the oil without overloading the basket.

Begin checking the internal temperature after approximately 8 minutes. Remove a tender from the oil before measuring its temperature. Continue cooking until the centre of the thickest part reaches at least 75°C.

Lift the basket carefully, allow excess oil to drain and transfer the cooked tenders to a clean tray.

Air frying

Preheat the air fryer to 200°C, following the appliance’s instructions.

Arrange the frozen tenders in a single layer with space for air to circulate. Turn after approximately 7–8 minutes.

Begin checking the internal temperature after approximately 15 minutes. Continue cooking until the centre of the thickest part of each tender reaches at least 75°C. Cooking time will vary with the appliance, tender size and batch size.

Before serving

Use a clean food thermometer to check the centre of the thickest part of the chicken. Check the largest tenders and portions from different areas of the tray or basket.

Do not rely on cooking time or the colour of the coating alone. If any checked tender is below 75°C, continue cooking and check again. Clean the thermometer probe between checks.

Keep uncooked chicken separate from cooked food and ready-to-eat ingredients. Use clean utensils and a clean plate for cooked tenders.

Serve promptly after cooking.

Storage

Keep frozen and follow the storage and handling instructions on the current packaging.

The times above indicate when to begin checking the internal temperature. They are estimates, not guaranteed cooking times.
